Itinerary

Day 1NAIROBI - SAMBURU

Your Driver-Guide will arrive at your hotel early in the morning for your Samburu adventure, departing between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM. Enjoy a scenic six-hour drive through the central highlands, with stunning views of Mount Kenya and lush coffee and tea plantations, including a brief stop in Nanyuki for refreshments.

Arrive at Samburu National Reserve by midday for check-in and lunch at your lodge or camp. Relax and take in the semi-arid landscape before embarking on an afternoon game drive at 3:30 PM along the Ewaso Ng’iro River, where you can spot elephants, lions, leopards, and various antelope species.

Your guide will take you to ideal viewpoints to capture the sunset over the savannah. Return to your lodge by 6:30 PM for a delicious dinner and the sounds of the African night. Overnight at your selected lodge or camp.

Day 2FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN SAMBURU

Start your day with an early sunrise game drive, the best time to see predators concluding their night hunts. Afterward, enjoy a hearty breakfast at your lodge before heading out for a full-day game drive in Samburu National Reserve.

Travel through diverse terrain, from open savannahs to riverine forests, as your guide helps you track the Samburu Special Five, unique to northern Kenya. Look out for crocodiles basking on the riverbanks and rare birds like vulturine guineafowls and pygmy falcons.

For lunch, enjoy a picnic overlooking the river or return to the lodge. In the afternoon, consider an optional excursion to Buffalo Springs and Shaba National Reserves to explore more wildlife-rich landscapes.

Return to your lodge by 6:30 PM for sundowners and dinner, followed by an overnight stay at your lodge or camp.

Day 3SAMBURU - NAIROBI

Start your final day with an early morning game drive to spot Samburu’s wildlife and enjoy the golden sunrise. After breakfast at 8:30 AM, check out of your lodge and begin your drive back to Nairobi. Along the way, you can stop for scenic photos and refreshments. You’ll arrive in Nairobi by late afternoon, concluding your unforgettable Samburu safari adventure.
